Superb Owl’s Trailer Hootenanny #3

So, which new trailers caught my eagle eye this week? It’s time once again to wet our beak on this week’s prey.

Disney’s Descendants 3 (UK Broadcast Date: Summer 2019)

Surprise! I bet you weren’t expecting this to catch my eye, but back in the nest, I have my own little owlets and they are super-keen on Disney’s musical miscreants monstrosity. Now it’s set for summer 2019 so it’s a ways off but forewarned is forearmed. There’s an outside chance the owlets will have grown out of their “Descendants” phase before it comes out but I’m not counting on it.

Hoot Rating:

Rampage (UK Release Date: 11 April 2018)

The Rock seems determined to use 2018 to test his reputed star power by attaching it to the weirdest and whackiest high-concept sci-fi action movies and daring the box office to go one on one with the Great One. Well, as a skilled avian predator, I can certainly smell what The Rock is cooking, and it smells like another feel-good action romp in the vein of “Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle“. The rock doesn’t need a Jaeger to take down these man-made cut-down kaijus.

Hoot Rating:

Lost In Space (UK Release Date: 13 April 2018)

Danger! Danger! That’s what the scurrying rodents of the forest squeak when I’m on the wing. It’s also what the robot often said to Will Robinson in TV’s “Lost In Space” back in the 1960s. It’s also what’s probably going through sci-fi fans’ minds when they think back to how badly the last attempt to reboot this series went. Netflix are playing this one pretty close to their chest and the trailer doesn’t give that much away but while they might be having a bit of a bumpy ride with their recent “Original Movies”, their track record of reviving unsuccessful movies into TV series is pretty good.

Hoot Rating:

That’s all for this week so until more new trailers hit, Owl be seeing you!
