Super Movie Secret Wars Quarter Finals

So we’re down to the final eight movies now. It’s nearly the endgame, although there were probably other ways. Even if you’d gone forward in time and viewed fourteen million, six hundred and five possible outcomes, you might not have predicted that we’d have a quarter-final draw featuring no DC movies, not even The Dark Knight.

The Fourth Round saw the final valiant DC champions fall as Avengers Assemble defeated Superman and the Age Of Ultron proved to be too much for the age of Billy Batson.  Elsewhere, Infinity War crushed Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class yielded to the might of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Incredibles scored a win over Thor: Ragnarok in a close run thing.  The Mask’s request that ‘somebody stop me’ was answered emphatically by Captain America: Civil War and Ant-Man And The Wasp trapped Doctor Strange in the quantum realm to seal their progress. All eyes, then, were on Big Hero 6 to see if it could complete an all-Disney sweep of the Fourth Round by defeating Logan (okay, so technically now also a Disney film but not at the time of release) but after fighting each other to a standstill and remaining deadlocked after extra time, it came down to the toss of a coin, which saw Logan scape through to  the Quarter Finals (probably with a noise like snkkt!)

So, vote, share the polls and get your friends to vote too. Your favourite isn’t safe (mine certainly haven’t been) and your least favourite may win –  all for the want of a single vote.  The Quarter Finals finish at 2359 BST on April 22nd (barring extra time & penalties) so make sure you vote before then! In the event of a tie, the match will go to a sudden-death penalty shoot-out Twitter poll. If that’s still a tie, it’ll be a sudden death coin toss penalty shoot-out.

Let’s have a good clean fight and may the best/ most influential/ most important/ most fun movie win!

The last animated movie standing faces a task that will test even the mighty strength of Mister Incredible: taking down Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ mightiest movie.

It’s a genuine Captain America civil war as his Avengers 2.5 dustup takes on The Winter Soldier. Who will be forced to yield when both movies throw their mighty shield?

Fresh from slashing Baymax to ribbons, Logan comes up against the pluck and ingenuity of Ant-Man and the Wasp. Even with X-23’s help, Can Wolverine’s claws hit a target that small?

It’s Whedon v Whedon as the first Avengers take on their own sequel. Will Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver make the difference here? Or will Avengers Assemble sucker-punch its rival and celebrate getting to the semi-finals with some shawarma?
