12 years later and I’m still here monkeying around!

344 posts since the last anniversary post, and there are no signs of slowing down, that’s for sure. It’s been a busy year at What The Craggus Saw and while I may not have managed to get around to all the Star Trek watching I wanted – although I did get through Star Trek: The Animated Series for its 50th Anniversary, I did at least manage to more than keep up with Doctor Who as well as delivering another Shark Weak, Halloween’s Month Of Spooks, Christmas and all the usual blockbuster, cinema and streaming releases. Well, most of them. Looking back it’s not a bad amount of work to celebrate a 12th anniversary.

Of course, anniversaries aren’t just for looking back but for looking forward too. There won’t be another Shark Weak this year – I’ve overfished the straight-to-streaming seas so need to let the stocks recover but don’t let that fool you into thinking I’ll be putting my feet up.

Unlike Disney+ and the BBC, I’ve got plenty more Doctor Who content planned for the year, both classic and revival while we wait to find out what’s going to happen after that finale. There’s summer blockbuster season to look forward to as well, plus a very special spooky season honouring the great Stephen King in October.

Along the way I’m sure I’ll think up other stuff beyond the routine keeping up with the neverending release schedule but I don’t want to give too much away just yet.

So, if you’re reading this, thanks for being part of What The Craggus Saw – whether you’re new or you’ve been around since the very beginning. I write this blog for me, for the fun of it (and, sometimes, the catharsis of it) but I appreciate every single one of you who takes the time to read my ramblings. Thanks for popping by and I hope it won’t be long before I see you again.

Love,
The Craggus

Sleepaway Camp (1983) Review

Sleepaway Camp offers very little sleep but a whole lotta camp. There’s nothing remotely subtle about 1983 slasher “Sleepaway Camp” – from the moment the first images of the empty Camp Arawak site to the accompaniment of shrieking horns and ominous chords, this film is working hard to...

Joy Ride (2023) Review

This is one ride you'll want to share. Nobody cries on a coke bender quite like Ashley Park. It’s not just the comedic precision – though that’s razor-sharp – it’s the fact Joy Ride dares to let its characters spiral without neutering them for likability. Four women, deeply flawed...

Le Mans '66 (2019) Review

Le Mans '66 will get your motor running. Based on an incredible true story and bringing one of motor racing’s unsung heroes to due prominence, “Le Mans ‘66” (or, if you prefer – as many seem to – “Ford v Ferrari”) tells the fascinating story of how consumer motor giant Ford took on...

Smallfoot (2018) Review

As the sole animated offering heading into half term, Smallfoot has some big shoes to fill. For my money, the definitive filmed adaptation of the legendary Yeti is The Goodies’ episode “Big Foot” but "Smallfoot", a tale of a tribe of Yetis living in secret on a Himalyan mountaintop might...
